2 charged with stabbing man during attempted robbery in O'Fallon

O’FALLON, Mo. (KMOV) – Two people are in custody after a 54-year-old man was stabbed multiple times in O’Fallon on Friday.

Peyton McAnelly, 20, was charged with first-degree accessory assault and armed criminal action and Avery Cornuelle, 18, was charged with first-degree assault and armed criminal action.

Police said officers were called to the 800 block of Blackberry after the victim had been stabbed in the head, neck and upper torso.

The victim was transported to the hospital, where he was treated for serious injuries.

Authorities said an investigation led officers to McAnelly and Cornuele, who allegedly stabbed the victim during an attempted robbery.

Both suspects each remain in custody on a $200,000 bond.
