10-year-old shot while taking out trash in St. Louis County

St. Louis, Mo. (KMOV) – A 10-year-old boy was shot in his driveway while taking out trash in North St. Louis County Wednesday night.

According to police, the boy was shot in the right thigh in the 9500 block of Jannette at 9:15 p.m.  

Paramedics transported the boy to a local hospital where he was listed in stable condition.

Police said that during the incident an occupied vehicle was shot at as it turned from Sun Valley onto Jannette. The driver of the vehicle was not injured.

While police were at the scene on Jannette, officers responded to another hospital in reference to a shooting victim from the area of Jannette and Sun Valley.  When they arrived, authorities found a 22-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the arm. His injuries are non-life threating.
