(KMOV) – Police are searching for a suspect after two juveniles broke into a home of a quiet north St. Louis County neighborhood Thursday morning.

Police said 23-year-old Keith Hubbard was getting ready for work around 9 a.m. when he heard someone jiggle the front door of his home in the 2400 block of Northland Ave. in Sycamore Hills.

Hubbard said they began trying to break the door down, and when he wouldnt let them in the front, they kicked in the back door.

Hubbard called police and officers arrived, interrupting the two juveniles in the middle of the robbery. Both suspects fled.

More than two dozen officers searched nearby neighborhoods eventually catching one of the suspects -just 15 years old- a block away.

The other is still at large, and Hubbard says it has him on edge.

“I’ve been nervous ever since," he said. "Watching and looking around the neighborhood making sure no one was hiding in my vehicles or something.”

Authorities said they were looking for the second suspect in the area south of Lackland and east of Brown.

“You work hard for what you get and for someone to come and try and take it from you is not cool at all,” Hubbard said.

Sycamore Hills is located between Overland and St. John. Capt. Morris with the St. John Police Department said it’s a small, quiet neighborhood that rarely sees crime.
