(KMOV) – News 4 learned of another incident where a Toyota vehicle accelerated on its own, causing damage to the vehicle and a building in the Metro East. The company still does not claim fault in this case.

Carolyn Allred was pulling her car under the carport of her Metro East home with her foot on the brake when her car revved up. Her 2012 Camry lurched forward and smashed into an ATV, carport posts and several other things.

“Thank goodness first of all I didn’t run over my husband. I was thinking to what if I’d been out on the road and something like this happened and I could have killed someone,” Allred said.

No one was injured in this accident. Allred is now dealing with repair bills, deductibles, and a car payment for a car she does not think is safe. She says more than 100 complaints to the federal government about similar incidents is proof.

News 4’s Russell Kinsaul talked to the National High Transportation Safety Administration who declined to comment. Although, Kinsaul said the agency was very interested in hearing the details of Allred’s accident.
