ST. LOUIS (KMOV) -- Hundreds of thousands of credit card numbers from all over the country, including the St. Louis area, may have been stolen by computer hackers in Russia and Romania.
Restaurant Depot, a wholesale retailer in St. Louis, fell victim to computer hackers who broke thorough web security firewalls. The company sent a letter to their customers saying hackers found a way into their computers. Now, customers of that retailer must scramble to protect themselves.
It is estimated that over 100,000 credit card numbers from customers have been stolen. One business owner who may have had his credit card hacked, has contacted his credit card companies and let them know the situation.
As of now, all of his accounts are on a red flag, and that may be good advice for anyone who fears their credit card may have also been hacked from Restaurant Depot.
