(KMOV.com)– Officials with Megabus, the popular city-to-city express bus company, expects bookings to increase 12 percent when compared to Memorial Day last year.
“Travelers are flocking to the bus. Not only for [the obvious benefits of] the low fares, but also to avoid the stress of flying and driving,” said Director of Chaddick Institute for Metropolitan Development Joseph P. Schwieterman.
A study released April 21 by the Chaddick Institute for Metropolitan Development of DePaul University revealed that bus carriers are saving customers between 50 and 80 percent per trip when compared to train and air travel. The study found bus customers save at least $169 per one-way trip compared to air travel.
The express bus company started operating in 2006 and offers fares from $1, plus a reservation fee.
