ST. LOUIS (AP) — Missouri's attorney general is signaling that more St. Louis-area companies are under investigation for possible scams involving bogus vehicle warranties.
Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster filed suit Thursday against six suburban St. Louis businesses that sell after-market vehicle protection plans. He suggested that more enforcements are coming.
He described the area as the "Silicon Valley" of an industry plagued by fraud, and referred to the companies' protection plans as hoaxes and scams.
One of the companies, National Dealers Warranty, tells the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that the lawsuit against it has no merit.
