(KMOV) -- Convicted murderer Chris Coleman arrived in prison Tuesday morning after a jury found him guilty of strangling his wife and two sons last week.

According to the Illinois Department of Corrections website, Coleman was admitted into the Pontiac Correctional Center in Pontiac, Illinois, about 100 miles south of Chicago. Pontiac Correctional Center is a maximum security prison for men. More than 1,600 convicted criminals are currently housed there.
On Monday, Judge Milton Wharton sentenced Coleman to three life sentences in prison after Coleman waived his right to sentencing from a jury.
Coleman was convicted of killing his wife Sheri and their two young sons Garett and Gavin in their Columbia, Illinois home in May 2009.
