ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) - A convention drawing 15,000 visitors to Downtown St. Louis this week could provide a boost to the area economy.

The Urbana Christian Fellowship Student Missions Conference is being held at the the Edward Jones Dome and America's Center from Dec. 27 to Dec. 31. Students who are attending are filling downtown hotel rooms and restaurants.

The Convention and Visitors Commission says it is rare for such an event to be held between Christmas and New Year's Days. It considers the convention an added bonus to the area.
