NEW YORK (AP) — Ex-congressman and struggling New York City mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner (WEE'-nur) says a video showing him in a shouting match with a bakery customer is just an example of him putting a heckler in his place.
The 2-minute video shows Weiner going back inside a bakery in an Orthodox Jewish neighborhood Wednesday after a man calls him a "scumbag."
Weiner tells the man "it takes one to know one, jackass."
The man chides Weiner for appearing in public following his latest sexting scandal.
Weiner replies the man isn't his judge. He said later at a senior center he responded appropriately to vile things said about him.
On a Weiner campaign video the man says "married to an Arab," presumably a reference to Weiner's Muslim wife.
Polls have Weiner a distant fourth among Democrats.
