NEW YORK (AP) — Stocks are opening higher on Wall Street, a day after the Dow Jones industrial average closed at its second all-time high in a week.

Shortly after the opening bell the Dow Jones industrial average rose 72 points, or 0.5 percent, to 14,744. The Standard & Poor's 500 index touched an all-time high of 1,576.16. That was up seven points, or 0.5 percent, in early trading. The Nasdaq composite rose 17 points, 0.5 percent, to 3,255.

Federal Reserve policymakers are divided over when to end measures to encourage more borrowing and spending to help stimulate the economy.

Minutes of the Fed's March 19-20 meeting show a few members want end "relatively soon" a program that is spending $85 billion a month to purchase bonds, saying the costs likely outweigh the benefits.
