BOSTON (AP) — Federal regulators have revoked the operating license of a discount bus service running between New York and Boston, saying the company stopped cooperating with federal safety inspectors.
Fung Wah discount bus service shut down earlier in the week after it was barred from operating out of Boston's South Station bus terminal. That came a day after the company's entire 28-bus fleet was pulled off the road because Massachusetts inspectors found various problems, including cracked frames.
The U.S. Department of Transportation's Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration says Fung Wah stopped cooperating with safety investigators Friday. It says the company also blocked further access to their safety records.
No one answered at a New York number for Fung Wah and it was not possible to leave a message.
