WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (AP) — A man accused of helping his sister kill her hotel heir husband and mother-in-law is trying to switch the blame to another relative.

Cristobal Veliz, of Philadelphia, and his sister, Narcy Novack, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., are accused of arranging the 2009 killings of Ben Novack and Bernice Novack.

Ben Novack was the son of the man who built the Fontainebleau hotel in Miami Beach.

Veliz testified Thursday that he heard his niece, May Abad, threaten Ben Novack a few days before Novack was beaten to death. Novack was Abad's stepfather.

Veliz also said he saw Abad twice with a man who has admitted carrying out the killing. That man testified earlier that he was recruited and paid by Veliz.

A call to Abad's lawyer wasn't immediately returned.
