Where you live could help determine your risk for developing diabetes.

New research finds people who live in neighborhoods with safe sidewalks, parks, good public transportation and ready access to fresh fruits and vegetables are 38 percent less likely to develop type-2 diabetes.

More than 23 million Americans already have diabetes and the numbers are growing in both adults and children.
