(KMOV) – Another area school district has closed due to flu-like illnesses going around.

Officials with Phelps County R-III say all schools within the district will be closed on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to prevent more students from getting sick.

The school district is located in Salem, about 120 miles southwest of St. Louis.

Just last week, a flu-like illness went around that affected more than 100 students at St. Gabriel and St. Raphael Schools in St. Louis.

More than 15 percent of students at St. Gabriel were sick. Officials closed the schools to give workers and volunteers a chance to disinfect the school.

Over at St. Raphael School, 25 percent of students were out sick.

Symptoms included headache, coughing and fever.
