ST. LOUIS, Mo (KMOV) – Police said they have a suspect in custody after he was seen on the roof of a South St. Louis home early Friday morning.

According to police, Damien Pender, 25, was found sitting on the roof of a home in the 7800 block of Michigan after police received a burglary in progress call about at 1:55 a.m. A resident of the home said he heard a loud crash and then noticed a man’s foot hanging from his roof.

After the resident yelled at the man to get off his roof, the suspect allegedly ran across the roof and jumped onto a neighboring home.

The Fire Department assisted police in getting Pender off the roof.

Police said Pender appeared disoriented and was taken to a local hospital for evaluation and later released back to police who charged him with property damage.
