ST. LOUIS, Mo. --  Police in St. Clair County are searching for a man after a woman said she was locked in a room and later forced into a vehicle against her will.

The Shiloh Police Department said in a news release Monday they’re searching for Wendell Bennett, 23, from the 100 block of Hollandia Drive in Fairview Heights.

Police said on June 16 Bennett locked a woman in an apartment in the 2400 block of Patrick Drive and then forced her into a vehicle.  The victim refused medical treatment when police arrived on the scene and police were unable to locate the suspect.    The relationship between Bennett and the victim was not made clear in the news release.

Bennett is facing seven counts of domestic battery and 2 counts of unlawful restraint.

Police said Bennett is considered violent and could be armed.

Anyone with information on Bennett’s location is asked to call police.
