ST.CHARLES, Mo. (KMOV.com staff) – Lindenwood University will be hosting an Information Technology job fair and symposium on Tuesday from 4:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.

The job fair and symposium will be held in Lindenwood’s University Cultural Center, located at 400 N. Kingshighway in St. Charles.

Lindenwood University is offering new degrees including bachelor’s degrees in business systems development, cyber security, information technology, and virtualization and cloud computing, along with master’s programs in managing information security, managing information technology, and managing virtualization and cloud computing.

“The recruiting and retaining of qualified IT jobs for businesses in the St. Louis region has been a growing concern for many years and will continue to be a challenge for the foreseeable future,” said Dr. Tom Cupples, Director of Lindenwood’s accelerated IT programs. “With the introduction of these new degrees, along with the addition of the state-of-the-art virtualization lab, we believe we are poised to fulfill this challenge.”

According to Cupples, the industry is growing rapidly. Approximately 3,000 IT jobs are available in the St. Louis area, with more than 1,400 in information security.
