HIGHLANDS, Texas -– A man and a woman were in the hospital Sunday night following a violent road rage incident, deputies in northeast Harris County said.
Deputies said the woman’s ex-husband ran the car she was in off the road. She was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital in unknown condition.
Investigators believe the suspect ran his ex-wife’s car off the road because she was in that car with another man.
It happened on South Main in Highlands on Sunday afternoon.
Police said the woman’s ex used an SUV to run them off the road. The car then crashed, and the woman was sent to the hospital by helicopter. The male passenger was taken to a hospital by ambulance.
The suspected road rage driver, the ex-husband, was arrested at the scene.
Three weeks ago in Crosby, an alleged road rage domestic violence crash killed an innocent woman and her young child. Prosecutors have not yet filed charges in that case. Investigators said in that incident a man was chasing down his wife in his truck on two-lane FM-1942. He lost control and hit another car head-on. Over the weekend, he was arrested for aggravated assault on a family member, deputies said.
