AUDITION INFORMATION

Come and audition for Junior Stars, and you might find yourself on TV! We’re looking for the area’s best singers ages 9 to 18 to appear in weekly episodes of Junior Stars, airing at 6:30 pm Saturdays on KMOV Channel 4. If you love to sing…read on!

DATE: Audition dates are: Saturday, March 1st and 8th. Auditions will take place before Six Flags opens for the 2008 season.

AUDITION TIME: 9 a.m. - 12 Noon

LOCATION: Six Flags St. Louis at Empire Theater. Park in the main parking lot, enter the park,  follow the orange cones to Empire Theatre. You can bring your whole family to the auditions!

WHO: We are looking for kids in two age groups: 9-13 and 14-18

WHAT TO WEAR: Kids can wear whatever they like for auditions

MUSIC: All auditions are a cappella (no music). Each audition will last a minute or less

HOW TO WIN YOUR AUDITION: Dance! Move! Show us you love being on stage.  (And of course, sing really well, too!)

HOW MANY: We are looking for more than 75 kids in each age group to make it into the show!

THE PROCESS: If you do well in your first audition, you will be asked to “call backs.”

IF YOU DO WELL IN “CALL BACKS” AND ARE CHOSEN TO BE IN AN EPISODE OF JUNIOR STARS:

• You will be assigned a future show taping date on the spot, at your “call back” audition.
• You will be given the time of your show taping, in writing. Two shows are taped each day. It’s important that you know which time you’re supposed to come to your show taping.
• You will be given a list of things to do in preparation for your show taping. It’s very important that you do everything on the list.
• You will be given six, one-day passes to Six Flags to congratulate you for making it into the show. You will use these to enter the park for your show taping. All contestants and family members/friends attending the show taping must be ticketed.

MORE ABOUT TAPING EPISODES OF JUNIOR STARS

The show tapings of Junior Stars will be Karaoke-style, with a Karaoke DJ pulling up CDs for each contestant. Contestants will submit their song choice to KMOV prior to their show taping. It is very important that contestants read the reminder letter that will be mailed to you, and meet the deadline dates. All kids taped in a show will appear in a show. Some performances will be edited to extract the best moments of each performance.
