Local police cracking down on Internet prostitution
08:25 AM CDT on Tuesday, August 19, 2008
(KMOV) -- News 4 has learned that local police are cracking down on prostitution, and they're going to Craigslist to do it.
The Maryland Heights police department is one of several local departments that are keeping an eye on the popular classified ads site.
They say the "services offered" section often features ads for sex.
The ads themselves are not illegal; a crime is only committed once the physical act has taken place.
