O'FALLON, Ill. (AP) -- A Metro-East youth pastor and auxiliary East St. Louis police officer is jailed on $250,000 bond on charges that he sexually assaulted an 8-year-old girl.

Investigators say Jenkins was a youth pastor at O'Fallon's Faith United Baptist Church, which has more than 100 members. They include the girl and her mother.
The mother went to East St. Louis police and filed a complaint against Jenkins, who worked at the church for four years.
Jenkins doesn't have a listed home telephone number. It isn't immediately clear if he has an attorney.
