Interstate 55 reopens after stand off near Festus

(KMOV)- Interstate 55 has reopened after being shut down due to a standoff with a man armed with rifles.
Officials say this was between mile marker 173 and 174 south of St. Louis near Festus.
Authorities say it started as a domestic call around 3:45 p.m. in Manderly Courts Mobile Home Park. A man in the resident fired shots and threatened police. Police pulled back and a female inside the resident managed to escape. The stand off ended with the man surrendering peacefully.
He was taken into custody. His name has not been released yet.
Missouri Highway Patrol had to shut down part of Interstate 55 in Jefferson County because the close proximity to the interstate.
There were no reports of any injuries.
