(KMOV)- A wounded soldier returned home to a warm welcome Wednesday.
Sergeant Josh Eckhoff of the 1138th Engineer Company was greeted by friends and family at Lambert International Airport.
Eckhoff was hurt in February when a shrapnel tore through his helmet.
A fellow soldier was also killed in the blast.
Eckhoff has been undergoing extensive rehab in Minnesota to learn to talk and walk again.
Eckhoff will soon have to return to Minnesota for more rehab.
He says he wants to earn his English degree from UMSL and help coach basketball at his old high school, Parkway South.
