St. Louis shelter in running for $1 million makeover

ST. LOUIS (AP) -- Stray Rescue of St. Louis is one of three finalists in a contest to win a $1 million animal shelter makeover.
Representatives from Stray Rescue and the other two finalists will be flown to New York City by Zootoo.com where the winner will be announced on May 21st.
Judges came to St. Louis on May 1st for a citywide pep rally to show support for the shelter.
One thousand shelters entered the contest.
Zootoo.com, billed as the pet lover's Web site, announced the finalists Thursday at the Humane Society of the United States' Animal Care EXPO Conference in Orlando, Fla.
