Lambert Airport police officer in serious condition after being hit by car

(KMOV) -- A Lambert Airport police officer is in the hospital after being struck by a vehicle.
According to a spokesperson for the airport, the officer was struck around 7:45 a.m. on Lambert Blvd. in front of the East Terminal.
Airport police were conducting a random security check when the vehicle reportedly drove up, hit an SUV at the checkpoint, hit a parked police car and then hit the officer.
The force of the impact threw officer Marvin Hailey, 39, about 75-100 feet. Hailey is an eight-year veteran of the Lambert Airport police force.
Hailey is in serious conditon at DePaul Hospital.
The driver of the vehicle that hit Hailey is registered to a woman from New Orleans. She was taken to St. John's Hospital in serious condition.
