Investigator: Sex offender chaperones Festus school field trip

(KMOV)- The Festus school district is investigating a sex offender's role in chaperoning a field trip for 1st graders.
School administrators confirmed to News 4 it happened Monday.
The superintendent said the offender has a child at the school and that with the permission, the offender is allowed to attend school events with her child.
Police are investigating this to determine if any laws were broken.
