(KMOV) – The search is on for a gunman that opened fire on two sheriff's deputies in south St. Louis.
One deputy was grazed in the abdomen and taken to Barnes Jewish Hospital.
Reportedly the shooting occurred in the 3400 block of Goodfellow on Tuesday evening.
Authorities tell News 4 that two sheriff's deputies were serving a restraining order for two individuals when an unknown assailant around the corner opened fire.
The sheriff's deputies only had time to take cover, and were unable to return fire.
It appears the sheriff's deputy who was shot suffered non-life threatening injuries, and has since been released from the hospital.
Reportedly this is the second time this officer has been shot.
The sheriff's deputy was first shot back in 1977 as a city cop.
Authorities are investigating the shooting, and say the gunman ran away on foot and is still on the loose.
Police also say they do not have good description of the suspect.
