04:57 PM CDT on Friday, April 14, 2006
(KMOV) - The family of a man shot to death in his home by Ste. Genevieve police is filing a wrongful death lawsuit. Police say last November Dennis Heberlie, 47, caused a disturbance at a gas station, then drove off. Officers followed him to his home then apparently got into a scuffle with Heberlie and later shot him. Heberlie's family says he was schizophrenic and unarmed. Two officers are named in the suit.
