Click here to watch News 4 coverage (KMOV) - Another motorist is claiming the mayor of Wentzville chased him for miles, and this driver says the mayor then confronted him. The mayor says he's trying to encourage safer driving, but his own police chief says some of his methods could be dangerous. Jackie Warner says last month, she was chased by Wentzville Mayor Paul Lambi, and then Lambi had police stop her and issue a speeding ticket Now Carlis Stephens tells News 4 that two weeks ago, Mayor Lambi pursued him for more than five miles starting on Highway N in Wentzville and then accused him of doing 60 in a 35-mile an our zone. Mayor Lambi declined an on camera interview but said Stephens was speeding and crossed a double yellow line on Highway N. He also said he didn't tail Stephens, but just happened to be driving in the same direction. The mayor doesn't dispute that at a red light he got out of his car and confronted Stephens. Wentzville’s Police Chief Robert Noonan advised motorists to never get out of their cars to confront other drivers, saying, "First of all you don't know who you're confronting, for personal safety you shouldn't do that.”
