St. Louis (KMOV) – St. Louis firefighters battled a three-alarm
warehouse fire near downtown St. Louis for two hours this morning.
KMOV Flames race through the vacant warehouse at 14th Street and Cass Avenue.
Emergency crews were called to the big building near the intersection of
14th and Cass Avenue around 7:30 a.m.
Flames were swirling from the windows and smoke could be seen for miles.
14 pieces of firefighting equipment and 35 firefighters were called to
the scene.
Authorities say that the building once housed a trucking company, but is
now empty.
Asbestos was in the building and the Health Department and EPA are going
through the building to make sure it's safe for firefighters to continue
their investigation.
It is not clear what sparked the fire.
There were no injuries.
