Cyclist struck, seriously hurt by hit and run motorist in downtown St. Louis

St. Louis, MO (KMOV) - A cyclist was struck and seriously hurt by a hit and run driver in downtown traffic Monday evening.
A man on a mountain bike was hit at around 5:40 p.m. as he crossed Broadway near Cole Street, which is just northeast of the Edward Jones Dome.
A witness tells News 4 the impact sounded like a gunshot, and the cyclist was thrown at least twelve feet before landing in traffic.
Police say the driver was in a dark colored SUV.
The cyclist was transported to a hospital with a broken leg among other injuries.
