(KMOV)-- Police are investigating after remains were found in Lincoln County.
Police said a group of mushroom hunters found human bones and clothing lying underneath several down trees around 7 p.m. Wednesday.
A wallet in the pants pocket revealed the identity of 28 year-old Jackie Noel of St. Louis.
On September 21, 2008, Jackie Noel and three others were allegedly involved in a stealing case at the Dollar General in Elsberry.
Police said the four lead law enforcement authorities on a high speed chase along Highway 79, north of Whispering Wind Road, before the vehicle stopped.
Jackie Noel ran on foot prompting a search. After several days the search was called off.
According to passengers in the vehicle, Jackie Noel was under the influence of both heroin and methamphetamine before entering the Dollar General in Elsberry.
