ST. LOUIS (KMOV) -- A three-vehicle accident killed a married couple and their unborn child Saturday afternoon in Fairmount City, police said.
Illinois State Police said Donald Canterberry was traveling south on Illinois Route 111 when he crossed into the northbound lane. His red Chevrolet Corvette struck the victims' vehicle head-on.
The victims' vehicle was then struck by another vehicle, police said.
Police identified the couple as Adam Zimmer, 26, and Lindsey Arnold-Zimmer, 24, of Granite City, Ill.

The couple were on their way to a St. Louis Blues game at Scottrade Center when they were killed.
Family members described Lindsey as a “peacemaker” and a “kind” person. She and her husband had known each other since high school and were married in June 2008.
Lindsey, who was four months pregnant, worked as a finance manager at Daniel Schmitt and Co., a classic car dealership in St. Ann, Mo.
Adam was employed as a special education teacher at Wilson Elementary School in Granite City.
Police said they would seek charges of driving under the influence and reckless homicide against Canterberry, 56, of Granite City.
The accident happened around 4:30 p.m. about a mile north of Interstate 55/70.
A portion of Route 111 was closed while an accident reconstruction team completed its investigation.
