07:20 PM CDT on Thursday, October 30, 2008
ST. LOUIS (KMOV) -- A man forced his way into a Jefferson County, Mo., home Wednesday morning and tried to sexually assault a woman who answered the door, authorities said.
Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Dave Marshak said the man knocked on the victim’s door around 11:30 a.m. and identified himself as “the cable man.” He then forced the victim down and attempted “sexual interaction” with Tanya Kendell.
The man stopped when he was attacked by Grace, the family’s German shepherd. He might have bite marks on his upper body, Marshak said.
Marshak said the white man stood about 6 feet tall and has a medium build, short hair and light facial hair. He was wearing a black and gray “hoodie” sweatshirt, blue jeans and black and red gloves.
Authorities asked that anyone with information call CrimeStoppers at 866-371-TIPS.
