Man shot or stabbed, then drives through fence in downtown St. Louis

ST. LOUIS (AP) -- St. Louis police are investigating after a car was driven through a fence in the Laclede's Landing area, not far from the Gateway Arch.
It turned out the driver had been shot or stabbed, a wound that eventually proved fatal.
Officers found the man at 4:45 a.m. Friday. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police say the man had a wound to the chest, but it wasn't clear how or where it occurred. An autopsy will determine if the man was shot or stabbed.
The name of the victim has not been released.
