Sunrise Beach, MO (KMOV) -- Lightning is being blamed for a huge fire that happened around 6:25 a.m. at Summer Place condo complex in Sunrise Beach, Missouri.
Sunrise Beach Fire Chief John Suellentrop tells KMOV.com’s Michael Bittner that the building that was destroyed has a total of eight units. No one was inside the building at the time of the fire.
He says the units are used as vacation homes and that particular building has no full-time residents
Suellentrop says that fire started at the top of the building and lightning is most likely to blame.
Firefighters managed to save the neighboring buildings. Suellentrop says they are fine with only minor cosmetic damage.
There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.
