Standoff winds up empty for police in St. Charles County

St. Louis (KMOV) -- A standoff in Dardenne Prairie winds up empty for local police.
Police were called around 5:00 a.m. on Sunday with reports of a man threatening to shoot his girlfriend with a shotgun on Dunheath Drive in Dardenne Prairie in St. Charles County.
Tactical teams from St. Charles and St.Louis County were called in to assist and part of the subdivision was evacuated.
Hours later, police were able to get into the house and found it to be empty.
Police met with the girlfriend, but were unable to locate the man.
Police are re-interviewing the girlfriend, but until they have an accurate account of what happened, no charges will be filed.
