(KMOV) -- The Major Case Squad has been activated to investigate a suspicious death in Festus, MO.

Alvin Hunt, 56, was found dead in his home in the 200 block of North 3 ^rd Street around 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

Officers who responded to the scene determined that the cause of death was suspicious.

News 4 has learned that Hunt may have been stabbed to death.

A neighbor says that she heard yelling and a man calling for help on Monday night, but thought it was just kids playing.

The Major Case Squad is now investigating Hunt’s death.
