Investigators: Ferguson fire may have been caused by smoking

(KMOV) -- Investigators have ruled that a fatal fire in Ferguson was an accident that may have been started by smoking.
Family members tell News 4 that Willie Mae Freeman, 88, and Jonnie Mae Freeman, 57 died in that fire. They were a mother and daughter that lived together in the home.
The fire happened Monday morning in the 7500 block of Rowles. A neighbor saw the flames around 5:00 a.m. on Monday morning.
By the time firefighters arrived, three rooms in the small home were engulfed.
The Freeman home had no working smoke detectors.
