(KMOV) -- A tractor trailer overturned on Interstate 270 west heading onto northbound Interstate 55 in Troy, Illinois and forced police to close the ramp Thursday morning.
Several Illinois State Police and emergency vehicles responded to the scene. The westbound I-270 ramp onto northbound I-55 was closed while crews worked to clear the wreckage.
Authorities said a great deal of cargo from the truck's trailer was spilled in the accident. Crews worked will into the afternoon to clean up the spilled cargo.
The ramp has since reopened.
The person driving the truck was taken to an area hospital for treatment. The extent of the driver's injuries is unknown.
