Seven Illinois residents charged in meth manufacturing case

(KMOV) -- Seven southern Illinois residents were indicted Thrusday on one count of conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine.

Co-defendants, Shana Ewing, 38, of Marion, Richard "Shane" Spurgeon, 37, of Murphysboro, Robert Shreve Jr., 22, of Creal Springs, Ambre "Amber" Harmon, 35, of Carterville, and Heather Ashmore, 35, of Johnston City are being held without bond until February 14th. The other two co-defendants Jason Scott Byrley, 34, of Pittsburg, and Robert Pearson, 33, of Marion are scheduled to appear in court February 28th. 

According to authorities, the crime allegedly happened between 2008 and January 30, 2012 in williamson, Jackson, Saline, and Franklin Counties.

The offense could land the defendants a prison term of 10 years to life and a fine no more than $10 million if convicted.
