Cahokia, Illinois (KMOV.com) – Police have deemed the Cahokia Wal-mart safe after evacuating the store Friday afternoon, and combing it with canine units from Scott Air Force Base.
Authorities got the call the store in the 1500 block of Camp Jackson Road just after 3 p.m. Shoppers and employees were told to leave the building.
Police and fire crews are the scene. Authorities are not releasing any details about why the store was evacuated and searched.
Canine units from Scott Air Force Base arrived a short time later.
Shoppers have been allowed to return into the building.
