(KMOV) -- A hearing took place Tuesday morning in the wrongful death lawsuit against Chris Coleman.

Coleman is accused of killing his wife, Sherri, and two sons last May in Columbia, Illinois.

Attorneys for Sherri Coleman's family are no longer trying to sue Joyce Meyer Ministries.

Chris Coleman worked as a security guard for Joyce Meyer at the time of the murders.

Attorneys for Sheri Coleman's relatives maintain Joyce Meyer Ministeries didn't sufficiently investigate death threats at the ministeries to Christopher Coleman and his family. They believe if it had, it would have been discovered as police believe, that the threat was coming from Coleman himself.

The attorneys wanted to depose Joyce Meyer, but the court ruled the time limit for that had expired. With much of the evidence in the criminal trial off limits to the civil attorneys, they didn't feel they had sufficient grounds to proceed with a hearing on Friday, so they dropped it until that evidence is available.

The attorneys said there is no doubt they will again attempt to add Joyce Meyer Ministeries as a defendant before the statute of limitations expires in 2011. Citing what they calls discrepancies in prior statements about trouble in the Coleman marriage and those death threats.
