ST. LOUIS (KMOV) -- Tishara Ingrum was 22 years old when she was hit by a car.

It was a Friday night and Tishara was heading out with her cousin.  When they were just a few blocks from home, Tishara realized her purse was sitting on top of the truck of the car.

The pair pulled over at the corner of Chambers Road and Glen Owen Drive in north St. Louis County.  Tishara got out to get her purse and the contents that spilled out.

A car on Chambers hit her and then took off.  Tishara passed away at a St. Louis hospital the next afternoon.

The hit-and-run happened on Nov. 6, and since then, Tishara's extended family -- with her cousins taking the lead -- have distributed flyers near the crime scene with Tishara's picture and details of the case. They fear the leads will dry up and the case will go cold.

Tishara leaves behind a husband and three young children. She worked as an assistant school nurse and was studying to become a registered nurse.

The description of the vehicle is vague.  It is a small dark-colored car.  Police found pieces of a gray plastic grill at the scene.  Police say the car was likely damaged in the hit-and-run.

If you have any information, call St. Louis County Police at 314-889-2341 or CrimeStoppers at 866-371-TIPS.

Tishara's family also set up The Tishara Brown-Ingrum Memorial Scholarship Fund at her family's church.

Tishara's father is the pastor at the Bethesda Temple at 918 East 5th Street in Alton, Ill.
