It's flu season...already. And this year, I happen to be about 8 months pregnant during this most wonderful time of year. So, I'm told that means that I have to get a flu shot. But, do I really?

I've done a little research on the topic and I've seen arguments for both sides. Most of the articles that I've found online say it's safe for me and my baby to get the flu shot. But, I've heard all of these horror stories about what's happened to a friend of a friend of a friend who got the flu shot. Needless to say, I'm a little torn. I've never had a flu shot before and I've always made it through flu season just fine. But this time, I need to think about protecting my baby too.

I'm not a fan of shots or using medication unless I really need it, so if I don't really need the shot, I don't want it. But if it's absolutely necessary for keeping my baby healthy, then I'm all for it.

I'm not sure what to do, so that's why I thought I'd ask all of you Mommy Diaries readers for some feedback. What do you think about flu shots in general? Do you get them, not get them? Did you get one when you were pregnant? Have you heard those horror stories that I'm talking about? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
