CANNES, France (AP) -- With all the recent events involving gunfire, it’s understandable that people can be jumpy when they hear what they think is a gun blast. That was the case when actor Christoph Waltz was on a live TV show being broadcast from the Cannes Film Festival in France. It happened Friday. Waltz was on the set when what sounded like gunfire rang out. Footage shows, Waltz others guests and crew scramble from the stage as someone called out “there’s someone shooting.” Later, the host said the noise had been caused by someone shooting blanks. No one was injured and a local newspaper reports a man was detained by police with a starter’s pistol, a pocket knife and a plastic grenade.
