SPIKE LEE: APOLOGIZES FOR MISTAKENLY LISTING TRAYVON SHOOTER'S ADDRESS

SANFORD, Florida (AP) -- He thought he was doing the right thing. But he did it with the wrong address -- and now Spike Lee is apologizing. The director has apologized to a Florida couple who Lee mistakenly identified as the address of George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watch volunteer who shot an unarmed black teenager. Lee turned to Twitter to post the address of a family where he believed Zimmerman lived. The people -- David and Elaine McClain say they have a son named William George Zimmerman -- but is no relation to the man involved in Trayvon Martin's shooting last month. After realizing his error, Lee tweeted late yesterday: "I Deeply Apologize To The McClain Family For Retweeting Their Address. It Was A Mistake. Please Leave The McClain's In Peace."
