Open auditions held in St. Louis for new Star Wars film

(KMOV) – A Disney casting director was in St. Louis Sunday  to hold open auditions for two lead roles in the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII film.

The auditions were held at the Sheraton – St. Louis City Center Hotel from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The characters up for grabs are named Rachel and Thomas.

According to opencastingcall2013.com, for Rachel the casting director was looking for a “young woman to play, 17-18 Years old. Must be beautiful, smart and athletic.  Open to all ethnicities."

For Thomas, they were seeking a “young man to play 19-23 years old. Must be handsome, smart and athletic. Must be over 18.”

Walt Disney Studios announced Thursday that “Star Wars: Episode VII” will open in theaters on Dec. 18, 2015. “Star Wars VII” is set to begin shooting in the spring at Pinewood Studios.
