CARPINTERIA, Calif. -- Let's face it, we all love garage sales and good deals, but when it's a famous, wealthy person with goods for sale, that's another story.

Oprah Winfrey had a "yard sale" over the weekend, California style, in other words, an auction.

It took place at the Santa Barbara Polo and Racquet Club.

Thousands of bidders showed up on Saturday to buy hundreds of items including, artwork, signed photos, a 19th century French chandelier, 18th century Louis XVI furniture including chairs, sofas and cabinets.

There were even electric scooters Oprah has never used.

Some of the items started in the $100's and some of the high end furniture pieces were in the $20,000 to $40,000 range.

Money from the auction goes to Oprah's charities.
